Ever since I started working at Sunway Pyramid Ice, I was given the opportunity to directly serve customers and help nurture a new skill within them. Whenever I’m at work, helping children and seeing them grow confidence in ice skating gave me a great sense of accomplishment. Feeling proud of what I have accomplished, I have always been able to keep pushing forward and constantly remind myself that I must be hardworking and passionate similar to my first day as an intern with Sunway Malls.

Working in Sunway Pyramid has made me more sensitive and responsible towards issues within the mall. In my time here, I have learned to not take a small piece of rubbish for granted as you never know if it might cause inconvenience to others especially shoppers. My job has also taught me to put a customer’s safety first and always make them feel at home by maintaining the cleanliness of their surroundings in the mall.

The key to moving upwards in different areas of work is to look out for opportunities where you think you can excel better. Discuss your thoughts with your superiors, grab the opportunity when it comes, adapt well as quickly as possible, and work closely with colleagues who are always helpful. As a leader, we must adapt into each new role, make certain sacrifices, take up additional roles, learn the objectives for each role, give clear directions and listen to feedback or suggestions from the team to gain the respect of our colleagues. Only with trust and respect will a team ‘fly’ and achieve wonders. Always do your best to your ability.
