Founded by Hidefumi Hommyo in 2000, atmos is known as a prominent Japanese streetwear and sneaker boutique based in Tokyo, Japan. atmos always catch the eyes of sneaker lovers with its ability to follow up with the latest sneakers trends and collaboration with popular brands including Nike, adidas, Puma, Asics, and many more brands. Since atmos' first Kuala Lumpur store opening in 2020, the team has continuously strived to deliver their utmost best to Malaysia’s streetwear community and culture, and here is the opening for flagship store of atmos.
The team aims to build a bridge between Malaysian with Japanese culture, which the store focuses on minimalist aesthetics featuring neutral and monochromatic colors, clean dimensions, and spaces efficiently utilized for unique functionalities of the store. To incorporate the Japanese minimalist aesthetics, the materials used were strictly focused on timber and concrete to provide a memorable in-store experience. The bonsai display and moss wall are the unique elements and representation of the store which brings a meaning of life or living within the store. Besides that, the feature wall highlighting all the latest, in-trend and highly demanded footwear.
Complementing the store, atmos features a Cafe named “No Nonsense”. The “No Nonsense” cafe aesthetics feature a monochromatic, woody color scheme with hints of elements of subgenre Japanese pop culture which creates a cozy yet conducive area for visitors to dwell in their interests while having cultured conversations. To further complement the aesthetics, the cafe offers a curated menu of Japanese servings which emphasizes Japanese strengths in the culinary department.
From the outside, atmos is viewed as a Japanese streetwear shop & a cafe both at the same time portraying two different identities where sneaker culture is at its core, sneakerheads conversing about sneakers over a good cup of tea.
